Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3

Seeing as how Blogger Beta is going a bit slow (and I'm bored), thought I'd add the highlights. Plus, I need a reason to test Blogger and IE out together. Hence IEmanz.

RC1 (Release Candidate 1: Combo of Beta 1 - 3) is out.
  1. You can download it via Microsoft
  2. Or you can wait till Windows tells you it is available. Mid-September or so.

Del.icio.us Categories

  • Del.icio.us Errors
    • Use the labels if you switch. The ?Tag_Name_Here causes a 404 error.
    • First it complained about my tag. Ok, no prob I can handle that easy.

    • Then it hinted bout my layout...Ignore...

    • Then it kicked me. Went to check my tag had updated. Click the category and...

Switched

  • Simple Switch
    • 2 Steps ^_^

    • Upload complete
Ahh...Ok, now this will be interesting ^_^

  • Template N' Labels
    • If your looking to switch for the labels. You will have to use a default Layout.
    • It will let you switch your Template to a Layout and backed up your customized Template. I had to take this option, Blogger now has issues with Del.icio.us Categories.
    • There is a tweak you can use for your Template, however it will not list the numbers and you have to switch back and forth after each post.

  • Profile
    • Now, I seam to have two profiles. I cannot edit my old. My new cannot accept my old LMAO. Apparently, it does not support HMTL. Updates on this post.

  • Switch Glitch
    • Many people are having problems after switching, things disappearing, not being able to login.
    • I'll add as many as possible, as well as suggested workarounds, to this post

Some problems met

Few problems have already been mentioned (yay!) Good news for the migrated bloggers. Saw a lot of issues on the group. Course I didn't add any 'how to' seeing as how I didn't have that issue nor do I/can I fix it. I still can't login to beta, unless my GMail is as well. On the plus side I'll be able to tweak the HTML soon!

As noted in the News, I didn't notice the SpellCheck. I use the Word App because my grammar is so bad :S So, figured why not give it a go. Heh, it doesn't like me much :P Can we add words? Ok, that's enough from me. I have to go hit this feedback up now ^_^

Template HTML

  • Edit is up and working
    • You have to upgrade your template and then edit HTML.
    • Even if you have done so already, it won't show unless you do it after August 30th, 2006 @ 8pm

  • New Things
    • Word Wrap!
    • New code to learn, you can't copy paste your old one in.
    • Update more later after I have time to tinker ^_^

  • OS/Browser
    • Mac - All unknown. Any Mac users out there?

    • Linux/Mozilla 1.7 - Looks and works peachy.
    • Linux/Firefox - Pretty much the same.
    • Linux/Konqueror - Not Recommended.

    • Windows/Firefox - Looks and works peachy.

      beta.blogger.com = google account (youremail@gmail.com)

Otherwize your password is wrong. Or you may not exzist!
  • Login Issues
    • Can't get in? Head to the homepage. Few times it told me I wasn't signed in. But once I hit the homepage it said I was.

    • If not try one or both of these.
      1. Comment to a blog, put your user info in there.
      2. Login to GMail.
    • Then head to the blogger homepage

If this helped you, or your still not able to get it to work, please let me know ^_^

    • Authors Only

    • Inviting and Waiting.

Ok, so now there's some odd kind of structure to this thing. Which is good cause I'm going to tweak the template now. Hah, well as much as it will let me anyways.

    • Test Blog to My Blog - Did Not Show on My Blog
  • Results
    • Backlinks by Beta will not work.

    • Normal to Normal - A OK
    • Normal to Beta - A OK
    • Beta to Normal - Error
    • Beta to Beta - Error

  • Unavoidable
    • Looked into the code to find a reason. Not like this helps any
    • In every layout that will allow you to use labels.

  • Hide
    • I searched high and low, for a few days.
    • There is no way to hide it or get rid of it.
    • Unless you use the HTML editor.
